Turn Every Missed Call into an Instant Conversational Lead
When a customer calls after hours or when lines are busy, Vistara AI triggers an immediate callback to capture the caller's request.
Updated
Instant 10-Second Callback
Call back missed callers immediately to capture hot interest.
Works Across Every Missed Scenario
After hours, all lines busy, staff on another call, or a ring nobody reached — each triggers the same automatic return.
Qualifies, Not Just Logs
The return call establishes what the caller actually wanted and captures it as structured data, rather than recording that a number rang.
Routes to the Right Team
Sales, service or support is identified on the return call and the enquiry is routed with the context already gathered.

A missed call is a customer who was ready to talk to you and could not. It is the highest-intent event in your entire funnel, and for most Indian businesses it is also the least instrumented — the ring happens, nobody answers, and no record of it exists anywhere anyone will look.
Missed-call automation closes that loop mechanically. Any unanswered inbound call triggers a return call within minutes, with an agent that can find out what the caller wanted, answer it, book something, or route the enquiry properly. The caller does not have to try again, which matters because most of them will not.
How Much a Missed Call Actually Costs
Most businesses have never quantified this, and the exercise is usually uncomfortable. Missed calls do not appear in a CRM, so they are invisible in every report the management team reads.
- Pull your telephony logs — Count unanswered inbound calls for the last month. The number is almost always higher than the team expects, sometimes by a large multiple.
- Check the pattern by hour — Missed calls cluster at lunch, at closing time and in the evening. That clustering tells you whether this is a staffing issue or a coverage issue.
- Estimate the intent — Inbound callers to a business number are overwhelmingly customers or prospects, not cold outreach. Treat their intent accordingly.
- Apply your conversion rate — Missed calls times your usual enquiry-to-sale rate times your average value gives a defensible number for what this costs annually.
- Count the repeat callers — People who tried twice and gave up are the clearest evidence of lost revenue you will find in the log.
For appointment-based and high-consideration businesses — clinics, workshops, showrooms, real estate — this calculation frequently produces a number larger than the entire marketing budget that generated those calls in the first place.
Designing the Return Call
The return call has to acknowledge that the customer called first. Getting this wrong makes it feel like unsolicited outbound, which is exactly the opposite of the intent.
- Reference the missed call immediately — Opening with an acknowledgement that they called and were not answered sets the entire frame correctly.
- Call back fast — Within minutes, not hours. The intent that made them call is still present for a short window and then it is gone.
- Ask an open question — You do not know why they called. A single open question routes far better than guessing and offering a menu.
- Handle the after-hours case explicitly — If they called at 10pm, the return call must wait for a permitted window — but should still happen first thing, not two days later.
- Do not call back repeatedly — One or two attempts. A missed call is not consent for a sequence, and treating it as one converts goodwill into irritation.
- Route hot enquiries to a human — Someone calling about buying today should reach a person on that return call, not be booked for tomorrow.
